My devotional art in Pure in Heart Stories Issue #11

Three artworks and a testimony

It brings me so much joy to share that my art has been published in Pure in Heart Stories Issue #11, edited by Veronica McDonald and her daughter Mia.

Pure in Heart Stories is a Christian-based literary magazine for families. It is such an honor to be a part of this incredible issue featuring art and stories to help children and families draw closer to God. I am truly inspired by the work of my fellow contributors, and especially give thanks to God for the incredible creativity and profound expressions of faith in the work of the young artists and writers in the issue.

The Love of God (collage)

As you gaze upon Oceans, I pray this will speak to you and fuel your faith:

I was all alone when He found me:

on the shore, wondering

when my ship would come in.

"I am the ship," He said as He

scooped me away, into His arms—

"I am the way; I am how you

get from here to there.

You thought you were all alone on this shore,

that no one heard you—

I heard and counted every thought.

Every tear you thought disappeared

into the sea as it dropped, I

counted it — I could see it like

a shining star against a dark

night sky.

You are mine; I made you.

I brought you into this world, though it

is fallen,

for a beautiful purpose.

You are already fulfilling it.

I am already answering your

prayers, you just can't see it.

Trust that there is help coming, even

if you can't see it from where you

stand at the shore.

I never move far away from you.

Trust that I am here,

that I love you; that I am near.

Your only task is to listen to

me and do what I say—let me

lead you. Trust me no matter

how the outcomes look to you. Trust

that I am sovereign, and that you are

loved—always.

You are mine."
