Poem: "Purification" by Tiffany Nicole Fletcher

image of flames of fire lighting up a dark atmosphere

Purification

I asked the Holy Spirit what

he wants me to know.

He told me,

“The pain will not consume you.”

So I surrender,

and die every day.

There is a fire constantly

seeking me,

to purify and remake me—

I tried to extinguish it,

but this everlasting fire

keeps burning and burning.

It will never go out.

Instead of running from the fire

I decided to become the flame.

Become the flame.
